Turuturin is a family business based in the UK consisting of my wife, myself and our two beautiful daughters. We focus on fun, colourful stickers inspired by our love (and countless trips!) to Japan and its folklore and pop culture. As millennials growing up in the late 80s and 90s, we also love the retro gaming aesthetics, specifically the pixel art style of the 2D era of gaming, when computers came with a very limited colour palette and low-resolution screens. Japan and pixel art are the main influences for our work.
While I focus on the pixel-art drawings and online store, both my wife and I participate in the ideation and design phases of our stickers. My wife also acts as first quality assurance for the final designs, resident social media expert and video editor. Our small daughters help us keep our inner child alive and provide an endless source of inspiration.
Each sticker tells a story that we create first and foremost because it helps us stay connected to the place and culture we love. We hope the passion that we pour into each pixel makes its way to you, and fills you with the same sense of wonder that we feel when exploring the fascinating universe that is the Japanese culture.
